STEM Racing UK National Finals 2026

The STEM Racing UK National Finals 2026 will see the top teams from across the nation compete for a place on the podium, and to be crowned our National Champions. The event is the culmination of an extensive series of  regional finals, which take place across England, Scotland and Wales from November 2025 to February 2026.

Hosted by F1TV presenter, Tom Deacon, the event is the ideal way to explore STEM Racing UK and experience the electric atmosphere of our largest event of the year. The competition will see:

Racing: Students race their cars down a 20-metre track, competing for the fastest speed.
Verbal Presentations: Speaking to industry professionals, teams present their work in short sessions.
Design & Engineering: Judges provide their expert opinion on students’ design and engineering work.
Project Management: Teams illustrate how they have put project management skills into practice.
Brand Identity: Students create show-stopping pit displays which are sure to impress.

The Venue

Held at Magna Science Adventure Centre in Rotherham, this famous former steelworks will make for a spectacular backdrop to the event. Converted into an interactive educational space with over 100 hands-on science and technology exhibits, the competition will be a true celebration of STEM education.

FAQs

Is parking available?
Magna Science and Adventure Centre is located just off the M1. Free parking is available on site for all cars and minibuses. There are good train links from Sheffield City Train Station with a link to get within walking distance of the venue. For more information, please click here.

Is food available to buy onsite?
Yes! Magna has a cafe that will be open throughout the competition. You are also welcome to bring your own food and drink to consume onsite.

Can I visit the Magna exhibition whilst attending the STEM Racing UK National Finals?
Yes, we'd love you to the make most of your trip! Teams competing in the STEM Racing National Finals 2026 will receive free access to the centre, and we are delighted to be able to offer guests of the event £10 tickets (discounted from walk-in price of £23.95 for adults).
